AGM 2026
Our Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 28 February at 11am at the Whangamatā Club.
We warmly invite members and supporters to join us as we reflect on the past year, share what we’ve been working on, and outline our priorities and focus for the year ahead.
Following the formal meeting, we’re pleased to host a guest speaker, offering further insight into matters of interest to our community.
We look forward to seeing you there.
Guest Speaker: John Freer

This year we are proud to welcome John Freer as our guest speaker. John is a respected Thames-Coromandel District Councillor representing the South-Eastern Ward, including Whangamatā, and brings a strong voice for our community to the table.
John recently stood for election and continues to be actively involved in local life and leadership, having deep roots in the area and a keen interest in how our district develops and serves its residents. Prior to his council role he was well known as a local journalist and community broadcaster, bringing local issues and stories to light across the Coromandel Peninsula.
In his new role as the South-Eastern Ward Councillor, John will speak on behalf of himself and the Council about the challenges and opportunities facing our district, and what this means for Whangamatā and our wider community in the year ahead.
We’re delighted he can join us to share insights into council priorities, engagement with community voices, and the future direction for local governance.

Time to Step Forward?
