Planning our Stormwater
Whangamatā is growing fast — and without a clear, locally focused plan, that growth risks damaging what makes our town so special. For nearly 20 years, we’ve been promised a dedicated spatial plan to guide how and where Whangamatā grows, how we manage stormwater, protect our environment, and maintain essential services. Despite repeated commitments — from the 2005 Parliamentary report to the 2020 Community Plan — no concrete action has followed. As housing intensifies and infrastructure strains, especially with increasing flood risks, it’s time our community had its say. We're pushing for a proper spatial plan that reflects what locals want for the future — and we’ll soon be calling on the community to help shape it.

About WRSWAG

Taking Action
The 1% Flood Letter
